The Fix Burger Bar: Worcester, MA

HOW have you not heard of this place yet? As previously mentioned in the post about the Usual (click here), The Fix Burger Bar is one of my favorite restaurants. It got too big for its small home on Shrewsbury St and now resides at:

108 Grove St, Worcester, MA 01605

Ok so why is this place so good? It just is, trust me. To be fair, I only recently tried it this past year... and with my first bite I realized how much my life had been missing.

Thoughts:

• Maybe those first 23 years of my life without this burger have just been subpar?

• Is there anywhere better I can go than this?

• Will it taste as good the second time?

• Third time?

• How many times can I go here and still afford to live?

• Is every day too many burgers?

OK so maybe I wasn't that ridiculous. But damn that burger was good and I wanted more, more, more.

I felt like this girl in that AT&T commercial:

The first time I went: I was so overwhelmed that I went with the special, because what if I NEVER saw it again and didn't get the chance to try it. And so I ate the special. Behold, the General.

The General: house grind patty, American cheese, General Tso sauce, and jalapeno & lime slaw on a sesame bun.

This was proceeded by an appetizer of poutine shared with "those friends" from the usual post: Shout out Garrett, Adam, and Niko.

Poutine: Crispy fries with awesome toppings / 8

Chilli cheese - classic chilli cheese fries with sliced jalapeno

The second time I went: Now I'm a seasoned professional. No cracking under pressure. I was able to choose an actual menu item. And I chose the Crunchy.

The Crunchy: lettuce, fried prosciutto, parmesan crisp, potato chips, garlic mayo, mustard pickle, sesame bun / 13

I also tried a bite of the Mushroom.

The Mushroom: sauteed mushrooms, grilled onion, arugula, gruyere, truffle mayo, brioche roll / 13

And an appetizer of Polenta Tots:

Polenta Tots: Blue cheese - buffalo dipping sauce, ranch dressing / 6

Special thanks to Adam & Garrett who were disgusted at the fact that I hadn't been here and made me get my life together to try it.
